Marine biologist blames poor parenting for seal migration to Smalltown.
Fifteen years ago, with no warning whatsoever, the seals abandoned their ancestral habitat outside Sealy city and swam 217 kilometers south to lounge on the sun-warmed rocks outside Smalltown. No one knew why. Until now.
Marine biologist Harry Hottub believes he’s cracked the case. His theory? “Collective memory loss.”
“The older seals used to pass down vital social knowledge to the younger ones,” Hottub told Smalltown Magazine. “But now the new generation is too busy gaming, so they’ve basically forgotten where they belong.”
“So... they just end up here?” we ask.
“Yes,” Hottub replies. “I mean, would you want to splash around in Loch Sealy? There are sea monsters in there, you know.”
