Starting this year, hunters may not even have to leave the campsite, according to Twisted Party’s Tøyta Siggen
The Twisted Party (TWP) has announced they will propose changes to the general hunting season in Smalltown during April.
“We’re suggesting that the hunting season be moved to the summer holiday period,” says Tøyta Siggen to Smalltown Magazine, “so hunters don’t have to take an extra week off in the fall.”
“But won’t that conflict with berry pickers and hikers using the wilderness during the summer?” we object.
“Sure,” replies Tøyta Siggen. “But in summer, hunters don’t even need to go into the woods. They can sit nice and dry in their caravans at the campsite and just shoot moose, deer, and reindeer from there.”
“But what about the calves?” we ask. “They’re too young to survive on their own if their mother is shot that early.”
“Well, then the hunters can just shoot them too,” says Tøyta Siggen, rolling her eyes. “That’s why we have both big and small bullets, right?”
“You mentioned reindeer earlier,” we continue. “The only reindeer in our area are at the Kjeøya Mini Golf & Wild Reindeer Park.”
“You don’t say?” responds Tøyta Siggen. “Well, that’ll make them even easier to take down.”
Smalltown Magazine has consulted zoolog Snorre Spett from the University of Smalltown. He confirms that deer typically move up into the high valleys starting in August, so shifting the hunting season to the summer holiday would make it easier for hunters to take game closer to town.
